The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Roundtable on Health Literacy will host a public workshop featuring presentations and discussions of health literacy and healthy aging on March 13, 2018 beginning at 8:00am ET, at the Keck Center in Washington, DC. Potential areas of discussion include the changing health needs of older adults; chronic disease and medication management; health communication challenges for older adults; health literacy needs and challenges for caregivers; and other topics related to health literacy for older people. The workshop will also highlight strategies to bridge health literacy gaps for older adults and their caregivers.
The workshop will be webcast live and slides and videos of the presentations will be available at the Health Literacy and Older Adults: Reshaping the Landscape event page on the National Academies website shortly after the meeting.
