Know the Risks of Marijuana

Posted by on July 9th, 2019 Posted in: Children and Teens, Health Information Literacy, Substance Addiction and Misuse, Websites

The number of states legalizing the use of marijuana is slowly growing, whether for medical and/or recreational use. Marijuana use among all adult age groups, both sexes, and pregnant women is increasing as well. At the same time, the perception of how harmful marijuana use can be is declining.

SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) offers information about the risks of marijuana on a new web page,Know the Risks of Marijuana. In addition to information about the impact of marijuana on brain health, mental health, athletic performance, and driving, the web page includes three videos:

  • Build a Brain
  • Marijuana Use While Pregnant or Breastfeeding
  • Virtual Assistant

In addition, test your knowledge by taking the Marijuana IQ Quiz.
