National American Indian/ Alaska Native Hope for Life Day

Posted by on September 5th, 2019 Posted in: Mental Health, Minority Health Concerns

September 10th is National American Indian/ Alaska Native (AI/AN) Hope for Life Day, coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day, and the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention’s AI/AN Task Force has developed a community toolkit with resources for reducing suicide in AI/AN communities. The Hope for Life Day Toolkit will help community organizers take specific steps to change the conversation about suicide, spread awareness, and foster hope to help address suicide in their communities. The toolkit encourages community organizers to host culturally tailored activities to promote hope, life, cultural resiliency, and community transformation.
