The GLMA’s annual conference on LGBTQ Health will be held virtually from September 24th to the 26th. The theme of this year’s conference is Developing LGBTQ Health Leadership: Strategies to Strengthen Ability and Influence in LGBTQ Healthcare, Health Education and Health Policy. The conference is open to all healthcare providers, researchers, academics, health administrators, policy experts, advocates and LGBTQ health supporters.
This year, Penny Glassman, NNLM HIV/AIDS Coordination Center and Jarrod Irwin, NNLM Southeast Atlantic Region will present Improving Patient Care Using Patient Education throughout the HIV Care Continuum on Saturday, Sept. 26th. The session will include an overview of the results of the NNLM HIV/AIDS Coordination Center’s recent needs assessment and discuss the feasability of providing educational material for patients at each step of the HIV Care Continuum.
The GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality was founded in 1981 with the mission of ensuring equality in healthcare for LGBTQ individuals and healthcare professionals. GLMA was previously known as the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association.
