NIH DMSP Update

Join us at 2pm Eastern on Oct. 17 for an upcoming Community Discussion on NIH's Data Management and Sharing Policy (DMSP) that will go into effect on January 25, 2023. We're looking for discussion prompts for this event — submit yours here and receive a $50 gift card if your submission is chosen!

Also, we held several webinars about the NIH policy earlier this year, and they are now available as On Demand Classes that can provide up to 5.5 hours of MLA Continuing Education credits. You can read more about these offerings on our blog.

Data Internship

Headshots of eight interns

From June to August, we welcomed our first cohort of graduate students for our Data Internship! Eight interns collaborated with three partner organizations to work on projects involving data. We also hosted workshops for the interns and held discussions on professional development, including preparing a resume, submitting publications, and practicing self-care.

One intern said, "I am so happy with the connections I have made. I feel like I have a secret power helping ease me into librarianship."

We would like to thank the Data Curation Network, the NNLM Evaluation Center, and the NYU Health Sciences Library for partnering with us to provide hands-on experiences for our interns. Every year, we will partner with different organizations to offer this internship opportunity to current graduate students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups. You can read more about the internship here.
