The documents also show you or link you to photos and commentary from contributing participants.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the Prairie Women\u2019s Health Centre of Excellence<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One comprehensive guide comes from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pwhce.ca\/\">Prairie Women\u2019s Health Centre of Excellence<\/a> \u00a0(PWHCE), located in Canada.\u00a0 The center engages in collaborative, community-based research on social and other determinants of the health of women and girls. The center\u2019s mission is to provide expert advice on social policies related to women\u2019s health. The authors (Beverly Palibroda, Brigette Krieg, Lisa Murdock and Joanne Havelock) published <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pwhce.ca\/photovoice\/pdf\/Photovoice_Manual.pdf\">A Practical Guide To Photovoice: Sharing Pictures, Telling Stories and Changing Communities<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0a nuts-and-bolts photovoice manual. It provides detailed advice, with periodic sidebars summarizing process. An appendix includes a helpful checklist. You will find sample photovoice entries throughout the document.<\/p>\n<p>The manual was written in 2009.\u00a0 Since that time, the PWHCE has introduced digital story-telling into its portfolio of participatory methods.\u00a0 Check out the stories <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pwhce.ca\/program_aboriginal_digitalStories.htm\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From Brainline.org<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brainline.org\/multimedia\/presentations\/photovoice\/Photovoice_Facilitators_Guide.pdf\">guide<\/a> was produced based on a photovoice project for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brainline.org\/\">Brainline.org<\/a>, an educational website providing authoritative information about brain injury symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment. The project featured the stories of eight members with traumatic brain injury.\u00a0 The gallery of essays is available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brainline.org\/multimedia\/presentations\/photovoice\/photovoice.html\">here<\/a>. \u00a0 Facilitators Laura Lorenz and Barbara Webster developed a succinct facilitator guide based on this project.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to learn how to do a photovoice project, these documents are a great place to start.
