Two states and two local health department groups join the program, the four entities represent several dozen departments who will now offer their workforce information resources for their evidence-based practice.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/new-departments-joining-public-health-digital-library\/scdheclogo\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1666\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1666\" src=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2022\/05\/scdheclogo.png\" alt=\"South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control\" width=\"183\" height=\"80\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0<strong>South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Welcome South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.\u00a0 One of SCDHEC&#8217;s agency strategies is &#8216;Science in Action&#8217; where &#8220;science, quality data and analytical processes&#8221; is used to &#8220;make fully informed, well-reasoned decisions that instill trust and confidence in expertise and decision making capabilities.&#8221;\u00a0 SCHEC&#8217;s Research and Planning unit is heading the PHDL program at the department.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/new-departments-joining-public-health-digital-library\/nebraskadhhslogo\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1673\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1673 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2022\/06\/Nebraskadhhslogo.png\" alt=\"Nebraska Division of Health and Human Services Logo\" width=\"150\" height=\"76\" \/><\/a><strong>Nebraska&#8217;s The Division of Public Health<\/strong> is responsible for preventive and community health programs, and regulation and licensure of health occupations and facilities.\u00a0 The Division of Public Health includes public health programs like WIC, Tobacco Free Nebraska, WISEWOMAN, Health Disparities and Health Equity, Vaccines for Children and Emergency Medical Services, and data registry systems. The PHDL program at Nebraska DPH is headed by the Office of Performance Management<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Local Health Departments (LHD)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The PHDL is coming to local health departments in a big way this year.\u00a0 State health departments have led the way in supporting their states&#8217; local health agencies through their sponsorship of the Public Health Digital Library program.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/new-departments-joining-public-health-digital-library\/washingtonmap\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1674\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1674\" src=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2022\/06\/WashingtonMap.gif\" alt=\"Washington State Map with Counties\" width=\"264\" height=\"172\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Washington State Department of Health<\/strong>&#8216;s Office of Health and Science initiated the PHDL implementation.\u00a0 \u00a0Larger counties like King-Seattle, Snohomish, Spokane, and Tacoma-Pierce are joined by over 30 other departments whose median size is 23 FTEs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/new-departments-joining-public-health-digital-library\/coloradocounties\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1675\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1675 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2022\/06\/ColoradoCounties.png\" alt=\"Map of Colorado Counties \" width=\"252\" height=\"186\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2022\/06\/ColoradoCounties.png 567w, https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2022\/06\/ColoradoCounties-300x221.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Colorado Department of Health and Environment<\/strong>\u00a0 spearheaded the sponsorship of more than 50 departments in counties like Alamosa, Jefferson, Larimer, and Denver.\u00a0 The median size of departments is 10 FTEs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For next access year, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/thinking-about-the-phdl-for-your-department\/\">agencies and departments considering the PHDL program<\/a> can contact us to discuss!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With our access year just beginning in May, NPHCO welcomes departments joining the Public Health Digital Library.
