{"id":1684,"date":"2022-09-08T18:00:26","date_gmt":"2022-09-08T18:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/?p=1684"},"modified":"2022-09-08T18:00:26","modified_gmt":"2022-09-08T18:00:26","slug":"program-offering-from-the-national-center-for-data-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/program-offering-from-the-national-center-for-data-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Program Offering from the National Center for Data Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/nphco\/__trashed\/\">NPHCO and the Network Family,<\/a> I told you about <a href=\"https:\/\/nnlm.gov\/about\/offices\/nphco\">NPHCO<\/a>, the\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/NNLM.gov\">Network of the National Library of Medicine<\/a> (NNLM), and <a href=\"https:\/\/nnlm.gov\/about\/regions\/region7\">Region 7<\/a>.\u00a0 The National Center for Data Services (NCDS) is yet another resource for you as part of NNLM.\u00a0 NCDS is the newest of NNLM&#8217;s national offices and centers.\u00a0 NCDS was established in July 2021 to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">develop capacity for data services in the health information community.<\/span>\u00a0 NCDS works collaboratively across the Network, drawing upon extensive connections with national data organizations to increase outreach and partner on programming.<\/p>\n<p>NCDS works towards the goal of accelerating discovery and advance health<strong> by building a workforce and providing the tools for data-driven research and healthcare<\/strong>.\u00a0 The focus is on knowledge application and consolidation through courses, coaching, and opportunities to practice learned skills.\u00a0 Integrating values of open science, reproducibility, inclusivity, and ethical use of data in an educational program for a data-driven approach to building capacity for data-related functions throughout healthcare and public health.<\/p>\n<p>NCDS staff have a keen interest in public health.
