Topics will include the types of misinformation, history of health misinformation, tips to understand health research, combating social media spread, the effects of health misinformation on individuals and communities, and highlighting replicable programs that PHDL Program Members can implement to address health misinformation.<\/p>\n<p>This virtual symposium will feature sessions focused on data, <strong>public health<\/strong>, libraries, and general health misinformation.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring the following Keynote speakers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kyla Fullenwider,\u00a0Senior Advisor at the U.S. Office of the Surgeon General. Her expertise in combating misinformation and designing human-centered solutions is being used to help communities stay informed about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/health-misinformation-toolkit-english.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-19<\/a>, among other things.<\/li>\n<li>Jevin West co-author of <em>Calling Bull***t: Data Reasoning in a Digital World<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Amanda Wilson, Alla Keselman, and Catherine Arnot Smith editors of <em>Combating Online Health Misinformation: A Professional&#8217;s Guide to Helping the Public<\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/nnlm23.vfairs.com\/en\/agenda-page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">agenda<\/a> for the titles and presenters of the scheduled sessions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Can\u2019t make all the sessions?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0That\u2019s okay!
