PHDL Webpage<\/p><\/div>\n

This access year began on May 1, 2026 and this there are some big changes that will be described in another blog post soon.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, two instruction sessions are open for registration that will show the changes and also how to access and use the Public Health Digital Library (PHDL) resources.\u00a0 With over 500 journals available both through the newly added databases and the last year’s collection, there are many opportunities for doing highly specific searches. The collection also includes about 80 eBooks available from several different publishers. To round off the materials available, several special databases for proprietary and public are available to browsing.<\/p>\n

Upcoming sessions are also posted in the PHDL Learning Calendar on the PHDL webpage at:\u00a0nphco.tdnetdiscover.com<\/a><\/p>\n

Since the PHDL webpage includes a tool to search PubMed, included in the course listings is the series, “How PubMed Works”. Each of the three sessions will cover what you need to know about PubMed and how to use it. The Medical Subjects heading session will go into more detail on how terms are used and when it may be best to use Medical Subject Headings in your search string. The session on Automatic Term Mapping will go into more detail on how terms are parsed by PubMed. Even if you are a seasoned PubMed user I encourage everyone to attend as often there can be small but significant changes to PubMed that are best demonstrated by the instructors of these sessions. We look forward to seeing you in class.<\/p>\n
