Is trying to keep up with information about electronic health records (EHRs) turning everything into a blur? Do you know your HITECH from your HIPAA without screaming “HIE!”? Just how can librarians be a part of the latest way that health information is being used and managed by both clinicians and patients?

Join Nikki Dettmar, Education and Assessment Coordinator, for Making Connections: Electronic Health Records and Librarians, a free asynchronous online class starting July 9th and ending August 5th, 2012 that provides an introduction to electronic health records and the conjunction of health information technology (health IT), information professionals, and patients accessing information through EHRs as well as up to date information about Meaningful Use (MU). Upon completion of this course participants will earn 4 continuing education credit units from the Medical Library Association. To register, sign up today at

http://nnlm.gov/pnr/training/register.html?schedule_id=1393. Priority will be given to participants from the Pacific Northwest Region (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington) with others admitted on a space-available basis. You will receive a personal email from the course instructor within several days of registering to confirm your place in the course. We look forward to having you join us!
