Data Webinars Coming Up

During the next three months, Data Federation of University Research (DataFOUR) will offer free one-hour web-based presentations on timely developments in research data from a variety of perspectives relevant to researchers, faculty, librarians, data specialists, and cyberinfrastructure professionals. The presentations are free, open to the entire higher education community and are intended to foster a shared understanding of data issues currently faced by institutions across the region.  Upcoming webinars include:

  • Andrew Johnson, Assistant Professor and Research Data Librarian at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU-Boulder).  DataQ: A Collaborative Platform for Answering Research Data Questions in Libraries, Friday, September 18, 2015, 9:00  – 10:00 AM Pacific
  • Rebekah Cummings, Research Data Management Librarian at the J Willard Marriott Library, University of Utah. Ownership, intellectual property, and governance considerations for academic research data. Friday, September 25, 2015, 9:00 – 10:00AM Pacific
  • Tracy Teal, Data Carpentry Project Lead. The title of her presentation is Data Carpentry: Enabling Researchers to Work More Effectively with Data. Friday, October 30, 2015, 9:00 – 10:00 AM Pacific
  • Jamene Brooks-Kieffer, Data Services Librarian at the University of Kansas. Under the Mattress? The current landscape of confidential data storage. Friday, December 11, 2015, 9:00 – 10:00 AM Pacific
