As part of the strategic planning process, NLM has charged a Working Group to implement the five-year development plan, MEDLINE 2022, designed to address challenges in maintaining the usefulness of MEDLINE as a tool for discovering and analyzing the biomedical research literature.
Peg Eby-Jager, A.M.L.S., Librarian | Consumer Health Information Specialist, writes about her experience attending the Health Information for Public Librarians Symposium held during the 2018 Medical Library Association Annual Meeting. She received a travel award from NNLM to support her attendance.
Terry Henner, Head of Outreach Services at the Savitt Medical Library at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, presents highlights of an outreach project funded through the NNLM PSR Express Outreach Award program, with a main goal of strengthening and enhancing access to local and national health information resources for the Washoe County community of seniors and their caregivers.
NNLM Network member Melliza Young, Patient Education Manager at Guam Regional Medical City highlights her experience with the four-day ENRICH Enriching Relationships in Communication and Healthcare course, organized by the Academy of Communication in Healthcare (ACH), May 31 – June 3, in Tampa, FL. The theme was “Nurturing Resilience: Communication Skills for Building Healthier Organizations.” She received NNLM PSR professional development funding support to attend the activity.
NNLM PSR Network member Annabelle Nunez, Associate Director of the University of Arizona Health Sciences Library in Tucson, writes about her experience and perspectives gained from attending the Symposium for Strategic Leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, sponsored by the Association of Research Libraries, May 9-11 in Minneapolis, MN. She received NNLM PSR professional development funding to support her conference attendance.
