A panel of U.S. physicians and other experts has developed treatment guidelines for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which are now posted online. They will be updated often, as new data are published.
Using the successful, long-running program of expert engagement and technology assessment called the Text Retrieval Conference (TREC) to the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset (CORD-19), the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy have launched a joint effort to support the development of search engines for research that will help in the fight against COVID-19.

NLM is working on multiple fronts to improve researchers’ understanding of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes the novel coronavirus) and aid in the response to COVID-19 (the disease caused by the novel coronavirus). By enhancing access to relevant data and information through its many resources, including PubMed Central, Genbank, ClinicalTrials.gov, and PubMed, NLM is demonstrating how libraries can contribute in real time to research and response efforts during this crisis.
