Through outreach funding awarded by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Pacific Southwest Region, all libraries are invited to participate in a project being conducted by SciStarter and Arizona State University to celebrate Citizen Science Day on April 13, 2019, by hosting the “Megathon Challenge” to benefit Alzheimer’s disease research.

The University of the Pacific Sacramento campus is hosting NLM’s “Physician Assistants: Collaboration and Care” traveling exhibit from January 21 through March 2. The university’s physician assistant program was instituted in January 2017, and the first cohort of students will graduate this spring.

NLM has launched “Exhibitions Connect,” a new opportunity to enhance dissemination of NLM health information resources and better serve libraries and cultural institutions that host NLM traveling exhibitions. The initiative will kick off in April 2019 with the bilingual traveling banner exhibition, “Surviving and Thriving: AIDS, Politics, and Culture/Sobrevivir y Prosperar: SIDA, Política y Cultura.”
