NLM Associate Director for Library Operations Joyce Backus has announced that beginning in June 2019, the National Network Coordinating Office (NNCO) will be renamed the Office of Engagement and Training (OET) and become NLM’s organizational home for outreach functions.

Through outreach funding awarded by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Pacific Southwest Region, all libraries are invited to participate in a project being conducted by SciStarter and Arizona State University to celebrate Citizen Science Day on April 13, 2019, by hosting the “Megathon Challenge” to benefit Alzheimer’s disease research.
The University of the Pacific Sacramento campus is hosting NLM’s “Physician Assistants: Collaboration and Care” traveling exhibit from January 21 through March 2. The university’s physician assistant program was instituted in January 2017, and the first cohort of students will graduate this spring.
