Amy Nadell, Learning Resource Center Manager, has left Fortis College in Phoenix, AZ.
Lynwood (Lyn) Lord started as the new NNLM PSR Office Manager on April 10. He replaces Melina Perez.
Caroline Marshall, MLIS, AHIP and Janet Hobbs, MLS, MBA at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Library co-authored the article, “Creating a web-based digital photographic archive: one hospital library’s experience,” published in the April 2017 issue of Journal of the Medical Library Association.
Kelli Ham, NNLM PSR Consumer Health Librarian, received a “star” nomination for ALA’s 2017 National Library Workers Day.
Michelle DeMars is the new Health Sciences & Nursing Librarian at the California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) Library. She replaces Eileen Wakiji.
Betsy Humphreys, National Library of Medicine Deputy Director, retired on June 30, after 44 years of outstanding public service.
Rikke Ogawa has been appointed UCLA Library’s next Director of the Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library and Science & Engineering Library effective July 1.
Annabelle Nuñez, MLS, AHIP, has been appointed Associate Director of the University of Arizona Health Sciences Library (UAHSL) in Tucson.
Carlene Drake, Library Director of Loma Linda (CA) University Libraries, retired on June 30, after 33 years of service and a 41-year career. Jerry Daly will be the Interim Library Director effective July 1.
Jeya Thangarajah, Medical Reference, Document Delivery & Consumer Health Librarian at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CA, retired at the end of March 2017.
Nisha Mody and Antonia Osuna-Garcia began new positions on July 1 as Health and Life Sciences Librarians at the UCLA Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library, Sciences User Engagement Team.
Adele Dobry is the new Health Sciences Librarian at California State University, Los Angeles, beginning July 5.
Irene Lovas retired from medical librarianship on June 29, after a career spanning more than 40 years. She was most recently the Health Sciences Librarian at Olive View UCLA Medical Center. Irene previously held positions at NNLM PSR and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Library in Los Angeles.
Kathleen Carlson, Associate and Education Librarian at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix Campus, is the author of the article “Librarian Participation in Biomedical Informatics Education and Practice,” published June, 2017, in the Journal of Hospital Librarianship.
Nicole Capdarest-Arest, MA, Clinical & Research Informationist at Stanford University’s Lane Medical Library, received the award for best oral presentation for her paper, Incorporating Game-based Learning into Medical Student Evidence-based Practice Education, at the ICML + EAHIL June 2017 Conference held in Dublin, Ireland.
Marsha Kmec has fully retired from medical librarianship, after a 35-year career. She was most recently the librarian at Mission Hospital Library in Mission Viejo, CA. Marsha was previously the Health Sciences Librarian at Olive View UCLA Medical Center.
Ellen Aaronson has joined the Mayo Clinic Libraries staff as a Librarian, and will work remotely performing literature searches for the Mayo Libraries in Rochester, MN and Jacksonville, FL. She was previously a solo Medical Librarian at West Hills Hospital & Medical Center for 27 years.
