Candidates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and other minority-serving institutions (MSIs) are particularly encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p>Interns will primarily be responsible for conducting research and collecting data related to biomedical and public health curriculum at minority-serving institutions (MSIs). Additional projects may include updating training materials and website content, developing storyboards and data visualizations, and supporting evaluations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><em>All or most of the interns&#8217; time will be spent working virtually.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Benefits to Interns<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A monthly stipend<\/li>\n<li>An opportunity to gain direct experience working with the federal government in support of important public health programs<\/li>\n<li>Mentorship and training opportunities; a personalized professional development plan<\/li>\n<li>An intellectually stimulating interdisciplinary learning community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Expectations from Interns<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor&#8217;s degree is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Work with staff from BLH and NLM to support research, communications, and training projects within the library and information science field.<\/li>\n<li>Report work progress to assigned supervisor; contribute to reports and presentations as tasked.<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to work 20-30 hours per week between May 23 and August 12, 2022.
