2020-2021 Funding Opportunities

Application Deadline has been extended to May 31st!

The MidContinental Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine is pleased to announce funding opportunities for 2020-21. Awards are available to Network member institutions to fund projects that improve access to health information, increase engagement with research and data, expand professional knowledge, and support outreach that promotes awareness and use of NLM resources in local communities. Funding Categories

Community Based Organizations Engagement

  • The purpose of this project fund is to support short-term outreach projects that involve advancing health information resources in collaboration with local community groups.

Professional Development

  • The purpose of this project fund is to support the professional development needs of librarians at Network member institutions and improve their ability to grow and advance their skills as health information professionals.

Library Marketing & Communications Conference 2020

  • The purpose of this project fund is to support librarians or staff from Network member institutions to attend the Library Marketing & Communications Conference in November 2020 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

K-12 Partnerships

  • The purpose of this project fund is to support new or enhance existing collaborative projects between libraries (public, community college, health sciences, etc.) and K-12 health focused school programs (library, nurse services, health/science education) to increase awareness of NLM resources.

Citizen Science and NLM Resources

  • The purpose of this project fund is to support K-12 Network members to increase the integration of NLM resources into their citizen science programs.

Technology Improvement

  • The purpose of this project fund is to support Network member libraries interested in upgrading or purchasing technology used to ensure access to high quality health information.

Public Library Programming

  • The purpose of this project fund is to support public library Network members to increase awareness and incorporate NLM resources as part their services directed towards underserved populations.
