2020 Summer Reading Programming with SciStarter & the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM)

Posted by on June 18th, 2020 Posted in: #Public/K-12 List

Exploring Citizen Science is a great way to reach library patrons virtually! The Network of the National Library of Medicine (note new name, same NNLM acronym!), a program of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), and the All of Us Research Program has expanded its partnership with SciStarter.org and the School for the Future of Innovation in Society at Arizona State University, and the Collaborative Summer Library Program to bring health programming to your library for Summer Reading and beyond.

The organizations worked collaboratively to promote Citizen Science Month (April 2020) in libraries, to increase awareness of citizen science in communities across the nation, and help you explore the impact of the environment on your health. Through citizen science and crowdsourcing, NNLM can help you engage in initiatives addressing societal needs and accelerating biomedical science, technology, and innovation. Participation in the research process also helps create transparency and build trust between NNLM and the communities that we serve.

Interested in co-hosting a virtual event about a Citizen Science project with SciStarter and NNLM? Get in touch by filling out our interest form. We have limited opportunities connected to summer reading, but filling out the sign-up form also signals your willingness for future engagement in the coming months.
