Will Duct Tape Cure My Warts? Examining Complementary and Alternative Medicine Course

Kiara Comfort, Education and Outreach Coordinator, for the Mid Continental Region in Nebraska will be teaching Will Duct Tape Cure My Warts? beginning March 1. This course focuses on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Components of the course discuss CAM and its history, its influence in medical practice, learning to evaluate resources and becoming more proficient in searching for evidence of the effectiveness of CAM. This course is worth 8 CHIS credits.

The Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS) is provided by the Medical Library Association. This specialization offers training providing health information services to consumers. NNLM offers a variety of classes that offer Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS) credits. A level 1 or level 2 CHIS can be obtained. There is a sponsorship available through NNLM to receive funding for CHIS certification.
