Celebrate Citizen Science Month This April

Citizen Science Month is an annual event each April that celebrates the contributions of everyday people to scientific research. By engaging in hands-on projects, participants help gather valuable data that can lead to breakthroughs in various fields, from monitoring local biodiversity to health studies. This month highlights the importance of collaboration between scientists and the public in advancing knowledge and solving global challenges.

Funding

If you are interested in obtaining funding to support citizen science activities at your institution, apply for one of Region 4’s Year 5 Professional Development Awards. Applications will be accepted and awarded on a rolling basis until February 16, 2026 at 5:00 pm MT or until funds are depleted Please reach out to your state’s point of contact with any questions you may have.
