Updated MedlinePlus Tutorial for Librarians and Health Educators

Posted by on September 22nd, 2025 Posted in: Webinars and Courses

The National Library of Medicine’s (NLM) recently updated MedlinePlus Tutorial for Librarians and Health Educators is a helpful resource designed to equip professionals like you with tools to guide your patrons and clients toward reliable health information.

You’ll learn how to navigate health topics, medications, genetics, medical tests, and more. Each section is written in easy-to-understand language and is available in both English and Spanish. The tutorial includes hands-on exercises, quick knowledge checks, and practical tips for teaching others how to use MedlinePlus.

You may also earn one Medical Library Association CE, Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS), or Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) credit by registering for the course via the Network of the National Library of Medicine.

Even if you’ve used MedlinePlus for years, this updated tutorial will show you features you may have missed and give you new ways to bring trusted health information into your everyday work.
