March 2026 Reading Club: Food and Nutrition

Posted by on March 2nd, 2026 Posted in: All Members, Opportunity to Participate

Good nutrition, combined with physical activity, can help you reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases, and promote your overall health. This month, the Advisory Group has selected three books to help ask questions about the food and nutrition information we digest from various sources, including websites, streaming services, podcasts, advertisements, friends, and family.

  • The Comic Book Guide to Growing Food by Joseph Tychonievic – Perfect for visual learners, the author uses an engaging graphic-novel format to provide beginners with a step-by-step manual for everything from planting techniques to pest control.
  • Butter by Asako Yuzuki – Inspired by a chilling true story, Butter is an unsettling exploration of misogyny and obsession that follows a journalist’s high-stakes attempt to crack a serial killer’s silence through the power of gourmet food.
  • Ultra-Processed People by Chris van Tulleken – A fast-paced, eye-opening exposé that reveals how the science and economics of ultra-processed foods drive chronic disease, offering vital solutions for our health and the planet.

The best way to guard against questionable health products and services is to be an informed consumer. Let the NNLM Reading Club help get the conversation started with our related Food and Nutrition guide
