Application Deadline Extended! Host Your Own Data Workshop with The Carpentries

NNLM Region 4 is seeking member institutions to host an online workshop co-facilitated by The Carpentries ( Data CarpentryLibrary Carpentry, or Software Carpentry) before April 30, 2024.

The workshop opportunities include:

  • Region 4 member institution can play hosts, in coordinating with The Carpentries, to produce a workshop that engages data learners in their communities.
  • The Carpentries provides access to a community of data learners and teachers for workshops, collaborations, and sharable educational initiatives with the workshop host with the goal of enhancing research-computing practices of individuals engaging in those services.
  • Hosts can select the best Carpentries Lesson Programs for their communities, including Data Carpentry – Library Carpentry – Software Carpentry that are taught by a team of trained instructors.
  • The Carpentries assists in organizing the workshop, which includes locating and coordinating instructors.
  • The Carpentries helps with content used to publicize relevant activities by the workshop hosts, such as other training courses, software releases, and notable scientific successes.

There are two workshops available between May 1, 2023-April 30, 2024, and the deadline to apply is May 19, 2023.
