October is National Medical Librarians Month (NMLM), which is a time to recognize the invaluable contributions of medical librarians and health information professionals across the globe. In an era where information is more abundant and more complex than ever, medical librarians are essential in guiding clinicians, researchers, students, and patients to accurate, timely, and evidence-based medical knowledge.
Medical librarians serve as critical partners in the healthcare ecosystem. Their expertise spans beyond traditional library services; they are embedded in clinical care teams, support systematic reviews, educate healthcare professionals on best practices in information literacy, and facilitate access to digital tools and databases.
We here at the Network of the National Library of Medicine are honored to partner with medical librarians across our region. We welcome any suggestions on ways we can continue to support your work in the future. Please reach out to us at region4@nnlm.gov.
