Congratulations Kathryn Vela!

We would like to congratulate Kathryn Vela, Medical Library at St. Luke’s Health System for her successful application for NNLM Region 4 Professional Development Awards [nnlm.gov]. Kathryn will be using these funds to attend the 2022 Electronic Resources and Libraries Conference as well as access to 2021 virtual conference archives. We look forward to hearing from her when she shares back with what she learned and how it might apply to the practice of medical librarianship.

If you don’t’ already know who Kathryn is, she has worked as a health sciences librarian for the past 5 years and has recently taken on collection development responsibilities. She hopes that attending the ERL Conference will help fill gaps in her knowledge. We are very happy to learn that Kathryn is also excited to attend the conference so that she can connect with colleagues with similar responsibilities and possibly gain valuable insights into how she can effectively improve access for St. Luke’s provider in her busy hospital library.
