Evolution of Bioinformatics Services in Libraries Speaker Series

Join us Friday afternoons in October and November, 2024 for our bioinformatics speaker series, Evolution of Bioinformatics Services in Libraries, recognizing the invaluable role of medical libraries in connecting researchers to bioinformatics knowledge, skills, and tools. Brought to you by the National Library of Medicine, Network of the National Library of Medicine, and Yale Medical Library.

All sessions occur Fridays through November 15, 2024 from 2-3 p.m. ET | 1-2 p.m. CT | 12-1 p.m. MT | 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. PT in Zoom. 

  • Session 1: Specialized Bioinformatics and Data Management in Medical Libraries
  • Session 2: Strengthening Library and University Core Collaborations in Bioinformatics
  • Session 3: Enhancing Bioinformatics Services in Minority Institutions
  • Session 4: Expanding Bioinformatics Librarianship Beyond Academia
  • Session 5: Launching Bioinformatics Programs with Limited Resources
  • Session 6: Synergizing Libraries with NCBI/NIH Resources
  • Session 7: Customizing Bioinformatics Support for Diverse Communities

Objectives

  • Identify strengths and challenges of building bioinformatics services in libraries and beyond
  • Consider how case studies in bioinformatics could apply to your own experience
  • Identify NCBI molecular biology databases in the context of bioinformatics
