The NNLM National Center for Data Services is excited to announce that their 9-week class The Fundamentals of Health Sciences Research Data Management will be held again from February 12 to April 12, 2024! Applications are now open until Sunday, January 14, 2024 for those who would like to enroll in the class as well as for those who would like to serve in the role of community expert.
This class is designed to improve learners’ knowledge and skills in research data management (RDM), and those who complete the course are eligible for 32 MLA CE credits, which can be applied to the MLA Data Services Specialization.
Throughout the course, learners will read foundational texts, discuss challenges and solutions to RDM issues, and complete assignments that will help grow their understanding of RDM. Weekly modules will cover a variety of topics, including the research data lifecycle, data management plans, reproducibility, and more.
Although it is mainly asynchronous, this course is structured to provide learners with opportunities to interact with each other and with community experts in research data management in order to build confidence in discussing RDM issues and to contribute to the growing community of information professionals with expertise in this area.
Community experts will help by interacting with learners to provide feedback on their work in the course and will receive compensation for their contributions.
This class requires an application and selection process, so if you are interested in applying for this course as either a learner or a community expert, please see the course page.
