NNLM Region 4 Awards-Coming Soon!

We are excited to share that NNLM Region 4 will soon announce NEW funding opportunities to support Region 4-member organization projects conducted between May 1, 2022 – April 30, 2023*.  In the meantime, start thinking about your projects.

The new awards will include: 

  • Engagement & Outreach Awards

There are 5 awards each up to $20,000

The purpose of this funding is to develop new or enhance existing collaborative projects to increase awareness and use of NLM resources and to improve health information literacy. Applicants do not need to apply for the full amount. Applications expenses must be allowed by NIH Grant Policy, has a reasonable goal and objectives, and a sensible timeline.

These are some questions to consider when applying for this award:

  1. How do the goal(s)and objectives result in improving access to health information, especially for our high priority populations? 
  2. How long will the project take?
  3. What are the costs? 
  4. How will you know if your project is a success or what is the anticipated impact on your community?
  • Professional Development Awards

There are 16 awards up to $2,000

The Professional Development Award is put in place to strengthen the professional knowledge and experience of individual network members to then train others in skills needed to deliver reliable health information.

To apply for this award, think about these questions:

  1. What is the learning outcome or outcome of the education or training activity or activities?
  2. Who will benefit from the gain in knowledge or skill?
  3. What is the cost?
  4. When is the activity?
  • Program Improvement Awards

There are 4 awards up to $4,500

This funding supports short-term projects that involve program improvement to advance access to health information resources. Projects should focus on efforts addressing the digital divide by improving community access to the internet and providing health literacy skills training or education required to find and interpret biomedical or health information. Applicants do not need to apply for the full amount. Applications expenses must be allowed by NIH Grant Policy, has a reasonable goal and objectives, and a sensible timeline.

  2. How long will the project take?
  3. What are the costs? 
  4. How will you know if your project is a success or what is the anticipated impact on your community?
