The NNLM hosts a webinar series devoted to National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources. It’s an opportunity to learn more about an unfamiliar or even a familiar resource. These webinar sessions can reveal NLM hidden gems or highlight resource features that may be unfamiliar to users. NLM experts present and attendees have a chance to ask their questions in these sessions. The next session will be focusing on the disaster literature and resources that you or your community members may find of valuable use.

When: Wednesday, July 31 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. ET (please adjust to your time zone)

Session title: Disaster Information Management Research Center (DIMRC): Disaster Health Literature

The core purpose of the Disaster Information Management Research Center (DIMRC) is to develop and provide access to health information resources and technology for disaster and public health emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.

During a disaster, decisions are made quickly, based on the information available. This session will provide a brief overview of the essential resources needed to provide health-related information services for supporting disaster preparedness, response, and recovery workforce.

The session will cover key sources from the U.S. National Library of Medicine® (NLM), including “Disaster Lit®: Database for Disaster Medicine and Public Health” and the “Disaster Health Information Search Guide”.

Presenter: Siobhan Champ-Blackwell is the Content Managing Editor of Disaster Lit: Database for Disaster Medicine and Public Health

Learn more about the session and register on the NNLM Resource Picks session web page. Attendees are encouraged to attend the live session but it will be recorded and posted on the NNLM Resource Picks web page a few days after the live session.
