October 2024 Reading Club: Forensic Medicine

The NNLM Reading Club brings awareness to forensic medicine this month. We would like to thank our newly created NNLM Reading Club Advisory Team which is made up of NNLM Members who worked together to select the three books we are featuring this month and to develop book discussion guides.

The field of medicine that interprets or establishes the facts pertaining to the unexplained or suspicious death of a human being is called Forensic Medicine. (Source: NLM | Visible Proofs) Forensic Medicine helps ensure public health and safety for local domestic incidents and U.S. national security.

We are pleased to be featuring three new books this month:

We encourage you to review the NLM Collections Tour: Forensic Medicine from the NLM Historical Collections. This article includes information about NLM collections, finding aids, history talks, as well as resources in PubMed and MedlinePlus related to forensic science.
