Updated NLM Technical Bulletin

Posted by on December 11th, 2025 Posted in: All Members, Partners Sharing Information

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has introduced a modernized version of its Technical Bulletin, designed to enhance usability, site performance, and content discovery for users. The redesigned platform reflects user feedback and features a more intuitive architecture, updated visual design, and improved search and browsing tools.

Key enhancements include updated filters that allow readers to narrow content by Popular Products and Publication Year, as well as a dynamic homepage that highlights the latest articles. Additionally, a Related Articles box appears alongside new content to encourage deeper exploration of relevant topics.

The rollout of the modernized site will occur in three phases. Phase One makes the beta version available now at, with a green banner linking to the new interface on the current site. At this stage, articles back to September 2005 have been transitioned and older content will be progressively migrated through mid-July 2026.

In April 2026, Phase Two will designate the modernized site as the primary Technical Bulletin platform, while retaining an option to toggle back to the legacy design. Finally, Phase Three will retire the previous website entirely, consolidating all content from 1997 onward into the new design and archiving print issues within the NLM Digital Collections and Archive-It collection.

NLM invites users to explore the beta site, provide feedback via the on-page feedback tool, and subscribe (or resubscribe) to receive email alerts of Technical Bulletin updates.
