As the demand for data literacy and data-driven decision-making continues to grow, libraries are uniquely positioned to support their communities by offering innovative data services. Whether serving students, researchers, local governments, or the public, libraries can play a critical role in helping individuals access, interpret, and apply data effectively.<\/p>\n

To support libraries in this evolving role, NNLM is excited to offer a free four-part webinar series<\/a> designed to guide you through the process of establishing and growing data services in your library.<\/p>\n

Session 1: Building Out Data Services<\/h3>\n

Date<\/strong>: October 1, 2025 at noon MT
This session features panelists who will discuss how they have established and grown data services at their institutions.<\/p>\n

Session 2: Conducting Data Interviews<\/h3>\n

Date<\/strong>: October 6, 2025 at noon MT
Dr. Nina Exner, Research Data Librarian at Virginia Commonwealth University, will discuss best practices for conducting data interviews in order to better know the needs of your researchers. This session will include a mock interview with a researcher as an example.<\/p>\n

Session 3: Finding Data<\/h3>\n

Date<\/strong>: October 15, 2025 at noon MT
Michelle Yee, Research Data and Metadata Management Librarian at NYU Health Sciences Library, will present information about how to find data, including useful processes and tools, teaching others how to find data, and suggestions for collaborating.<\/p>\n

Session 4: The NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy<\/h3>\n

Date<\/strong>: October 23, 2025 at noon MT
The NIH DMSP is a good way to engage with your community around data services. Shanda Hunt, Research Data Education & Outreach Librarian at University of Minnesota Libraries, will talk about the policy, what she has learned about providing data services around the policy, and insights into marketing data services.<\/p>\n
