\"\"The National Library of Medicine (NLM) is excited to announce the launch of Linked Discoveries<\/b><\/a>, a new experimental pilot resource developed to help researchers, clinicians, information specialists, and the public discover meaningful connections between related scientific publications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Every day, researchers face an ever-growing volume of biomedical literature. Finding the right papers isn’t just about matching keywords \u2014 it’s about understanding how ideas connect, how findings build on one another, and how research evolves as new evidence emerges. Linked Discoveries is designed to support that kind of exploration: helping users navigate the literature, synthesize what’s known, and evaluate the strength of the evidence behind a finding.\u00a0In this way, Linked Discoveries supports replication and reproducibility<\/a> of biomedical research, which is foundational to the conduct of gold standard science.<\/p>\n

Starting from a PubMed\u00ae citation, Linked Discoveries maps up to 200 of the closest related articles so you can quickly explore relationships and shared topics between articles, including conditions, genes, and chemicals of interest.\u00a0It also surfaces context like\u202fNIH funding,\u202fcitation relationships, retractions, and reviews.<\/p>\n

Linked Discoveries is a new prototype resource under active refinement, with ongoing exploration of new features and capabilities planned for future releases. For example, we are working to connect with the NCATS Biomedical Data Translator and are exploring opportunities to connect findings across the broader NIH research ecosystem.
