Upcoming PNR Rendezvous on the NLM resource — Health Reach

Do you work with immigrants and refugees?  Does your library or place of work include employees or patrons whose first language may not be English? Do you find yourself thinking you should look into cultural competency training but may not know where to look? This Wednesday join us for our PNR Rendezvous for an opportunity to learn about the National Library of Medicine resource called Health Reach.

HealthReach (https://healthreach.nlm.nih.gov) is a resource of quality multilingual, multicultural public health information for those working with or providing care to individuals with limited English proficiency. Resources include:

• Health education materials in various languages and formats (brochures, fact sheets, videos)
• Provider tools (including best practices, cultural information, and effective use of interpreters)
• Special collections on Emergency and Disaster, Women’s Health and Mental Health

During the presentation the site will briefly be demonstrated, and new initiates such as the funding and acquisition of new materials will  be discussed.

To attend go to http://webmeeting.nih.gov/rendezvous and login as a Guest, using your own name. Once logged into the web meeting, a pop-up box allows you to put in your phone number and the program will call you.  If this does not happen, just call the 800 number and use the participant code that appears in the Notes box on the screen.

The PNR Rendezvous webcast sessions are eligible for 1 hour of Medical Library Association continuing education (MLA CE) for attending the webcast or listening to the recording.  A brief online evaluation form link will be offered at a website that is provided during the end of the webcast.  Upon completion of the survey, you will be able to download the certificate.
