Are you interested in pursuing MLA’s Data Services Specialization (DSS) but don’t have the funds to support the application fees? Don’t fret, NNLM Region 5 will sponsor these fees for members.

What is DSS? The Data Services Specialization (DSS), is a certificate program provided by the Medical Library Association (MLA). DSS indicates that you have received training in providing data services to researchers, clinicians, students, librarians, and others who work with data–and recognition for the accomplishment of acquiring skills in providing data services.

To be eligible for a DSS certificate, you must complete a series of NNLM on-demand Research and Data Management (RDM) classes, plus complete three credits in each of the five DSS competencies outlined by MLA.

For more information on the DSS program, visit NNLM’s guide here.

If you are a NNLM Region 5 member and are interested in having your DSS application fees sponsored, fill out the form here.
