The National Library of Medicine is partnering with researchers at ICF to better understand how health and biomedical researchers locate and use scientific literature. We are inviting you to participate in the following research opportunities:

• A 15-minute online survey about keywords and search terms related to sex as a biological variable in biomedical literature. To participate, please click here to begin the survey.
• A 1-hour virtual interview about your work processes and informational needs. If you are interested in participating in an interview, please click here to fill out an interest form, and we will be in contact with you. Interviews will take place between February 6th and February 20th, 2026.

Please share these opportunities with your research colleagues. Compensation is available for interview participants from outside the NIH.

Participation is Voluntary: Your participation is completely voluntary. You may choose not to answer any question or stop at any time without penalty.

Estimated Burden: Completing the survey will take approximately 15 minutes. There are no costs to you other than the time required to complete the survey. Participating in an interview will take approximately 60 minutes. There are no costs to you other than the time required to participate in the interview.

Confidentiality: Your responses will be kept confidential and used only for research purposes. No personally identifiable information will be disclosed outside the research team.
