Hello! My name is Andrea Ryce and I am your new Resource Sharing/Network Coordinator for the Pacific Northwest Region. Although I am relatively new to DOCLINE, I am not at all unfamiliar with the Pacific Northwest or the NN/LM. I grew up in North Vancouver, BC and completed my MLIS at the University of British Columbia. From there I went to NLM as an Associate Fellow where I had the opportunity to work with Angela Ruffin, Keith Cogdill, Lisa Boyd, and an assortment of National Network staff. For the second year of my Associate Fellowship, I returned to the Pacific Northwest to work with Neil Rambo and others at the University of Washington Health Sciences Libraries. Needless to say, the past couple of years has taught me much about the role of librarians in the provision of health information. I hope I will get the opportunity to meet many of you in the near future. In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact me – Susan Barnes is proving a very patient and thorough teacher and she has promised to assist in questions that stump me (right Susan?).
That said, I will be at the 2005 Northwest Interlibrary Loan Conference in Portland, Oregon which is being held on September 15 & 16. I will be hosting a DOCLINE Interest Group from 12-1:30 pm on Thursday, September 15. And yes, there will be lunch! If you are unable to join me at the NW ILL Conference, I will be sure to see you at the 2005 PNC/MLA Annual Meeting.
