How to Review and Update your Organization’s NNLM Membership

Posted by on March 21st, 2024 Posted in: News from NNLM Region 5
Tags: ,

The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM), Region 5 includes over 800 member organizations. Nationally, over 9,000 organizations are members of the NNLM.

NNLM staff maintain a members directory listing our members. The members directory includes information about a member organization’s location, website, and liaison. The liaison is the NNLM’s main point of contact for the member organization. The members directory is publicly available, and fosters the connections that make the NNLM a network. Looking for collaborators for your next health information project? Search the members directory to find similar organizations and nearby contacts.

Members, to help NNLM Region 5 staff keep the members directory current, please review your membership record. To do this:

Go to members directory and search for your organization name in “quotes” (example: “University of Washington”). Click on your organization’s name in the search results. Review:

  • Is the organizational name correct?
  • Is the phone number current?
  • Is the mailing address correct?
  • Is the liaison contact current?

If you are the liaison for your organization, you may update your organization’s name, mailing address, or phone number:

  • Login to NNLM.gov with your username and password
  • Go to “Update My Profile” (in the top right corner, under your name)
  • Under the heading “My Organizations” click “update organization” (to the right of your organization’s name). If you are not the liaison for your organization, you will not see “update organization”
  • Update the address or other information and save.

If changes need to be made in liaison contacts, or if you have any questions about updating your organization’s membership record, contact Emily (ehamstra@uw.edu) for help.

Membership is free, allows an organization to apply for funding, and shows support for the NNLM program. If your organization is not a member, we welcome you to join! Learn more about membership in our recent blog post What is NNLM Membership and Why is it Offered?.
