Posted by on May 5th, 2005 Posted in: News from NLM, News From NNLM PNR

NLM announces the upcoming release of DOCLINE 2.5 and the newly redesigned Loansome Doc scheduled for release shortly after MLA. We anticipate DOCLINE and Loansome Doc will be unavailable for approximately 1 hour immediately
prior to release the latest versions of DOCLINE and Loansome Doc. We will notify you with the exact date and time of the release after MLA.

DOCLINE 2.5 Release Notes can be viewed at:

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/docline/docline_rel_info_v2_5.html

The Release Notes include links to screenshots of the upcoming changes.

Highlights of the release include:
* Improved display and navigation of registration, ordering, and account maintenance in Loansome Doc
* Password reset feature for patrons who have forgotten their password
* New warning message to user when ordering a potential duplicate citation
* Ability for libraries to prompt user for library-defined data element during registration. For example, employee number or department charge code
* Ability for individual libraries to download their serial holdings in MARC21 format

The Regional Medical Libraries will be participating in beta testing of the release over the next several weeks. In addition, NLM has once again invited vendors to participate in beta testing to allow them to system test their products which integrate with DOCLINE. The vendors are QuickDOC, Cliosoftware, ILLiad, and Relais. Please let us know via DOCLINE’s Contact Us link if there are other vendors you think should be invited to participate in testing
