The National Library of Medicine traveling exhibition, Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness returns to the University of Washington Health Sciences Library during October 6-27, 2015.

Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness explores the interconnectedness of wellness, illness, and cultural life for Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians. Visitors will discover how Native concepts of health and illness are closely tied to the concepts of community, spirit, and the land.

This interactive, electronic exhibit will be part of the cultural excursions program for participants in the 8th National Pathways Into Health conference. At the conference, NN/LM PNR staff will exhibit on behalf of NLM, lead “student day” activities, and present a session on information resources for health care workers in under-resourced or unaffiliated settings.

You are invited to visit the University of Washington Health Sciences Library to tour the self-guided exhibit during the library’s regular open hours.
