Introduction: Alison Aldrich, Technology Outreach Coordinator

Posted by on January 8th, 2008 Posted in: News From NNLM PNR

Alison Aldrich Hello readers! I am the new Technology Outreach Coordinator for the Pacific Northwest Region. My name is Alison Aldrich. I am an Ohio native and am brand new to the Pacific Northwest, having arrived on the second rainiest day in Seattle history. Since then, I have seen the sun (a few times) and enjoyed exploring this amazing city. Before coming to Seattle, I worked as an academic health sciences librarian at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. I completed my Master of Science in Information degree at the University of Michigan and a Master of Public Health degree at Wright State. What does a Technology Outreach Coordinator do, exactly? My job is to stay on top of emerging technologies (e.g. blogs, wikis, media-casting, RSS, and whatever is to come) and to assist you with putting those technologies to use in your libraries. I know that many of you are already doing innovative things with technology and I look forward to sharing your stories. You will see posts from me here on the Dragonfly with some frequency.

I am excited to be here and eager to learn more about you and your libraries. Please help me settle into my new position by contacting me with questions, or just to introduce yourself. Here are several ways to reach me:

Phone: 206-221-3489
