The NN/LM PNR announces new funding opportunities, ranging from $500 – $25,000. Awards are aligned with goals to promote quality health information access by underserved communities and health care professionals in the Pacific Northwest Region. This is a great chance to improve your community’s access to health information. (Click here to see a list of recently funded projects.)
Applications are due December 1, 2006 for Express Outreach awards (up to $12,000) to support 12-month outreach projects. These awards are designed to prepare network members to compete successfully for larger awards, to test effectiveness and sustainability of new products or services, and to encourage collaboration with new communities and agencies. Small-scale project evaluations and reports will be required.
As previously announced, one-time funding (of $25,000) is available for an NLM approved MedlinePlus Go Local project, and proposals are due December 15, 2006. Please contact Gail Kouame (gmarie@u.washington.edu) by November 1 if you intend to apply.
For the following smaller awards, applications are now available and accepted continually:
Training and Exhibiting awards (up to $500 each) are available for activities to train others and promote awareness about health information resources and services in your community and from the National Library of Medicine.
For those interested in learning about a community for a potential outreach project, consider applying for an Assessment and Planning award for up to $2,000.
Finally, to support health information services by Network organizations with inadequate Internet access, small Connectivity awards (up to $2,000) are available to purchase equipment and/or pay Internet fees for up to 12 months.
For more information about award applications, see the NN/LM PNR Funding webpage.
