Understanding Qualitative Research – Exploring the Motivations of Patients and Clinicians Webinar, August 26

Posted by on August 20th, 2015 Posted in: News From NNLM PNR, Training & Education

Please join us at the University of Washington Health Sciences Library for this webinar from the Medical Library Association, “Understanding Qualitative Research: Exploring the Motivations of Patients and Clinicians.”

If studies show that having answers to clinical questions changes patient management over 50% of the time, why do residents fail to answer their clinical question? Quantitative research can count the changes in management but qualitative research is needed to explain the problems with changing behavior. This webinar will be an introduction to Qualitative Research in health care. After the presentation, participants will be able to describe the differences between qualitative and quantitative research, identify terminology and search filters that make it easier to find qualitative research and using a case based example, evaluate the credibility of qualitative research.

Join us at the University of Washington Health Sciences Library, Room LTL on the 3rd floor, 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Wednesday, August 26. If you cannot join us in person, please let me know and I can provide you with a link to the recording of the webinar.
