The Washington Health Foundation (WHF) is funding community initiatives to make Washington the Healthiest State in the Nation. In 2007, WHF has two grant programs: Major Grants and Mini Grants. Both grants encourage community-based initiatives that contribute to making Washington the Healthiest State in the Nation. All of WHF’s grants are aimed at improving both Healthy Living (individual health choices) and Healthy Systems (the educational, economic, social, health and political systems that can make healthy choices the easy choices.
Major Grants will be given to participating organizations in the Healthiest State Campaign for support of community-based health promotion partnerships aimed at increasing physical activity, improving nutrition and increasing immunization rates for young children ages 19-35 months. These grants range from $15,000 – $50,000. The deadline for these applications is March 15, 2007
Mini Grants will be given to participating organizations in the Healthiest State Campaign for support of community-based efforts that address any of the following areas: Promoting Community Health, Investing in Prevention, Increasing Value in Health Services, Protecting Against Injury & Disease, Avoiding Addictions, and Engaging in Healthy Habits. These grants range from $1,000 – $15,000. The deadlines for these applications are June 15, 2007 and September 15, 2007.
