This class covers concepts of visually representing data and proven tools that are effective in making data understood at a glance. Students will increase their knowledge on data visualization concepts and a variety of data visualization applications. Students will complete assigned exercises that they will share with their class peers. Class participants are expected to spend 1.5 hours on content learning, 3 hours of in-depth learning on student selected tool\/application and preparing their class assignment, and .5 hours on peer critique.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase their knowledge of using visual representations of data and various data visualization tools.<\/li>\n<li>Design a data visualization with a data set on a selected tool.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss peer submitted data visualizations to enhance understanding of the data presented.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>March 14 &#8211; April 8, 2016 (4 weeks), online\/asynchronous via Moodle<\/p>\n<p>5 MLA CE credits<\/p>\n<p>More information and registration<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dazzle your clients, colleagues, classmates (and yourself!)!
