Request for Quotations:
\nAIDS Community Information Outreach Projects 2007<\/p>\n
The National Library of Medicine is pleased to announce the solicitation of quotations from community-based organizations and libraries to design and conduct projects that will improve access to HIV\/AIDS related health information for patients, the affected community, and their caregivers. <\/p>\n
Projects must involve one or more of the following information access categories:<\/p>\n
– Information retrieval<\/p>\n
– Skills development<\/p>\n
– State-of-the-art resources<\/p>\n
– Resource development<\/p>\n
– Document access<\/p>\n
Emphasis is placed upon the following types of organizations or arrangements for developing these programs:<\/p>\n
– Community-based organizations (CBOs) or patient advocacy groups currently providing AIDS related services to the affected community<\/p>\n
– Public libraries serving communities in the provision of AIDS-related information and resources<\/p>\n
– Health Departments or other local, municipal, or state agencies working to improve the public health<\/p>\n
– Faith-based organizations currently providing AIDS related services<\/p>\n
– Partnerships among the above-listed organizations that may be in existence or formed specifically for this purpose<\/p>\n
Standard Awards are offered for up to $60,000; Express Awards are offered for up to $10,000. Quotations are due to NLM on Monday, June 18, 2007.<\/p>\n
