The redesigned version is now live at <a title=\"PubMed\" href=\"http:\/\/pubmed.gov\">http:\/\/pubmed.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>An <a title=\"NLM Technical Bulletin Article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/pubs\/techbull\/so09\/so09_pm_redesign.html\">NLM Technical Bulletin article<\/a> details the changes, which include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A more streamlined homepage<\/li>\n<li>Elimination of the Limits, Preview\/Index, History, and Details tabs (these functions are still available under Advanced Search)<\/li>\n<li>Simplified Display options &#8211; Brief, Citation, and AbstractPlus views are no longer available, but MeSH headings, LinkOut, and other information can be displayed in Abstract view.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Separate NLM Technical Bulletin articles cover <a title=\"linkout redesign\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/pubs\/techbull\/so09\/so09_linkout_redesign.html\">LinkOut in the PubMed redesign<\/a> (information about URLs) and <a title=\"Changes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/pubs\/techbull\/so09\/so09_pm_now_redesign.html\">changes introduced during the preview period<\/a>. Based on user suggestions, the Search Details box has been added to the results screen.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some additional resources to help you with the transition:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The PubMed <a title=\"Quick Tours\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/bsd\/disted\/pubmed.html\">&#8220;Quick Tour&#8221;<\/a> video tutorials have been updated to reflect the design changes.<\/li>\n<li>Notes and a recording from NLM&#8217;s thirty minute webcasts about the redesign are available.<\/li>\n<li>The National Network of Libraries of Medicine provides printable, customizable tri-fold <a title=\"brochures\" href=\"http:\/\/nnlm.gov\/pnr\/training\/training-materials.html\">brochures<\/a> about PubMed, MyNCBI, MeSH and other topics.<\/li>\n<li>Librarians at the University of Washington Health Sciences Library produced a &#8220;Where Has it Gone?&#8221; table to guide users who were familiar with the previous interface.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PubMed, the National Library of Medicine&#8217;s free resource for searching millions of biomedical journal citations and abstracts, has undergone a significant facelift.
