As unfortunate as it is to lose this great resource, other senior health information resources do exist. Not all of these are National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources but do provide an array of information pertaining to aging and health for seniors themselves, for caregivers and for those whose work focuses on older adult concerns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MedlinePlus<\/strong> provides information with a\u00a0Seniors demographic group which includes a listing of health topics related to this age group.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>NIH National Institute on Aging<\/strong> provides a number of resources for Seniors. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nia.nih.gov\/health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Health &amp; Aging tab<\/a> includes links to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A-Z health topics listing<\/li>\n<li>Aging &amp; Health news stories<\/li>\n<li>Clinical Trial information<\/li>\n<li>ADEAR (Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease and Education Referral Center) provides a variety of information for\u00a0caregivers and providers<\/li>\n<li>Go4Life- an exercise, nutrition, and safety resource to help motivate seniors to stay healthy<\/li>\n<li>Health information in Spanish and other languages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>American Indian Health<\/strong> provides culturally appropriate health information for elders.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NIHSeniorHealth YouTube Channel<\/strong> will continue to offer its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/NIHSeniorHealth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">110+ videos<\/a> about a variety of health and wellness information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NLM4Caregivers<\/strong> provides links to <a href=\"https:\/\/sis.nlm.nih.gov\/outreach\/caregivers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">health and other relevant information<\/a> needed by caregivers to assist for a variety of needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>National Resource Center on LGBT Aging<\/strong>\u00a0provides training, technical assistance, and educational resources\u00a0for providers, LGBT organizations as well as individual older adults. LGBT seniors and their caregivers will find this to be a valuable resource for help in <a href=\"http:\/\/lgbtagingcenter.org\/resources\/index.cfm?a=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">locating community agencies<\/a> that are sensitive and supportive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eldercare Locator<\/strong>\u00a0is a service provided by the Administration on Aging. It connects older adults and their caregivers to local support services through state and local agencies as well as community organizations. It also provides tools and resources as well as an online chat with an information specialist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Administration for Community Living (ACL)<\/strong>\u00a0ACL includes the Administration on Aging. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acl.gov\/node\/661\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0People with Disabilities, Older Adults, Family &amp; Friends<\/a>\u00a0section provides information that includes information to support older adults to be\u00a0able to live where they choose, with the people they choose, and participate fully in their communities. Some other ACL sites include Eldercare Locator, <a href=\"https:\/\/olderindians.acl.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">OlderIndians.gov<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ncea.acl.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Center on Elder Abuse<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/longtermcare.acl.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LongTermCare.gov<\/a>, Alzheimers.gov, and\u00a0BrainHealth.gov<\/p>\n<p>Sign up for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nia.nih.gov\/about\/stay-connected\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Institute on Aging mailing lists<\/a> for updates on health information relating to aging and older adults<\/p>\n<p>Staff from NLM and the National Institute on Aging <a href=\"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/ner\/your-nih-seniorhealth-questions-answered\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">responded to questions<\/a> submitted by the NNLM Network about NIHSeniorHealth\u2019s retirement in the NNLM NER blog.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As many of you know, the NIH Senior Health website will be discontinued as of August 1.
